Lowering springs
So when I put in the new front springs that came with new upper and lower isolaters do I transfer over the old rubber damper that's inside the old springs?.
I'm guessing it's called a damper, it's basically a thick rubber tube stuffed inside there. |
I'm gonna say yes. It's basically like a bump stop.

Thanks for reply. I was watching LMR on Youtube do a spring install but it was on a 94 and they didn't have one in there. I have a feeling it's either or -preference but want to be sure. Don't want to do this job over...obviously lol.

Imp would say yes as well but my only concern would be that it may be too long with a shorter spring which could cause frequent contact and a rough ride.

I'll probably put it in there, could probably trim it 1.5in to match drop.
I finally got all my parts in that UPS has been holding hostage...they transferred it to the P.O and I had to go pick it up. The box was destroyed and looked like a retape up was performed. I was worried, I had hubs, brake pads all that kinda stuff and it was all floating around in box, I also ordered 4 -5.0 badges which miraculously weren't scratched or broken. |
My GT is slammed , and I re used mine with my eibach sportline springs unmodified, and yet have to feel it bottom out. Been driving it like this for the last 13 years .

Alright thanks guys. I finally got all parts in (had to go to NAPA for wheel bearings jezus American Muscle. Damn things things were like 70 bucks). and hope to tackle in next few days.
