New goodyear Eagle SS Drag Radial
I wonder how these are gonna hook?
DOT approved drag radials. These Goodyear Eagle SS DOT drag radials are designed for muscle and tuner cars, as well as high-performance vehicles. The traction compound helps deliver consistent launches and the tread design enhances tread life without sacrificing ET and straight line performance. They also feature rim guards to help protect expensive aftermarket rims. Here is a link to the summit site.. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...750+0&x=21&y=6 |

I've honestly had nothing but problems with Goodyear tires, famous for shifting belts, bulges and causing radial tire pulls, my fav tires have always been BFGoodrich, just my opinion.

They only make 4 sizes...and all are 15" rims...not sure the logic on that...most if not all d/r's when new launched 16" and 17" sizes as well..but what do you expect from good for a year...
offtopic sort of...Good Year... Possibly the worst tires I have ever owned and yes I have owned alot of goodyears. Every Mustang I have ever owned went from the dealership directly to Firestone to get them taken off...thats no b/s either. The Cobra came with Eagle F1's, and everyone said don't do it......they are the pride of goodyear and are the best tires they have ever made. they are by far the worst tires I have ever owned and as of next week will no longer be on the Cobra... |
My V6 came with Goodyear Eagle GT-IIs... I spun out while going in a straight line with those pieces of crap.... 40km/h in the rain.

Goodyear has made some overpriced crap in the past 15 years. But their latest ultra-high performance tires, the Eagle F1 GS-D3 (very different from the regular Eagle F1 that came on the 03 - 04 Cobra) is a phenomenal tire, wet or dry. Even the previous generation, the F1 GS-D2, is quite good. I have a set of them on my T-Bird SC, and they work quite well.
I had noticed the GY drag radials on their site a few months ago, didn't realize they were going in to that part of the market. It will be interesting to hear any feedback on them. On a related note, M&H is offering drag radials now too: http://www.mandhtires.com/store.php?...mode=cat_click I was looking for taller tires to knock down the final drive ratio on my SC a bit, so I wouldn't have to grab 4th a hundred feet before the traps. M&H offers a 16" and a 17" size, 275 width, that are 28" tall. I have a pair of the 275-50-17 to try on my SC this year. :) cheers Ed N. |
