New Member looking to buy first Mustang
 
Hey guys I've lurking around for sometime and have been impressed with this site, I had a question about purchasing my first Mustang. I'm looking at a 1988 Mustang GT, the car has approx 170,000km, the body seems to be in good shape, the interior is so so shape, it is 5spd, manual windows. The asking price is $3999. I can probubly get the car for $3000. I wanted to know what I should be looking for when I goto see the car? Is there anything particular I should pay special attention too? Is it a decent price? Any help would be great thanks.

Check the frame rails towards the fire wall for rot. Check the floors as well.

Of course, wheel wells and shock towers. Under the trans hump is a good place, use a flashlight and mirror.

Any pics of the GT you can share with us?

Welcome aboard!
I agree with 2tone's advice.Other places to check aswell would be the rad craddle,and torque boxes.
