Opinions on summer tire for my V6
Hi.
It will soon be time to remove the blizzaks I have on my daily driver and put some summer tires on. The tires that came with the car are crap and are two different low name brands. I would like to get some summer rubber for this car as it is my daily driver and I am having alot of fun now that I had a Mach1 dual exhaust installed. I will be driving the Mach on sunny weekends only so my daily driver needs some good rubber. I am curious as to people's opinions with $$s per tire for this V6 15" rim car. Suggestions?? |
Id say these are a great deal if you had 17's https://www.cmoc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=1096
but for 15's I would just put some decent Kumhos on Also I would reccomed putting in posi in your V6, it should help you alot in the winter. |

Posi will not help my engine breathe better or give me a better sound. I have read that many ppl seem to have an issue driving a Mustang in the snow. :laughhard I do not. |

Issue on driving a mustang in the winter, 6 cyl, one wheel spin, no power, skinny tires. No one that I know has issues with a 6 cyl Mustang during the winter. Not sure why anyone would have issues, pretty decent car in the winter really. Very predictable. So driver Macgyver. :) |
Yeah, I meant it so you have better traction in the snow and even power to each wheel. not one wheel

Any advantage to using Tire Rack in the USA?

I ditched the 15" wheels and went with 17" and Kumho Ecsta Supra 711s all around. While I was at it, I bought Cobra brakes for the front. That was the best thing I have ever done on that car. They saved my ass from stupid drivers enough times to make it completely worth it, such as getting cut off on EC Row doing 100 by someone doing less than 80.
The only problem with those brakes is that I have to swap them out every winter to put my Blizzaks on since they're on the stock wheels and do not fit around the calipers, but that only takes about 20 minutes since all the bolts aren't seized anymore... As for the V6 being good in the snow, well it depends on your tires I guess. When I had the stock(?) Eagle GT IIs I was ready to sell the car. I refused to drive it in the snow because anything over 30kph and I was spinning out. The Blizzaks solved most of those problems, although even tapping the gas I can still get the back end to swing out. Here's my summer tires with the brakes, they proved themselves to me last summer as the Kumhos are excellent tires. Amazing wet and dry traction. http://www.stang232sc.com/brakes.jpg |
