Paint for 95 convertible

I need to get my car re-painted but I'm having a bit of trouble. The clear coat is shot - it used to be a Florida car. I don't really know what is a good paint process or what paints are decent.

I also don't know who is decent or how how to find a decent paint shop. I don't have a lot of money to spend but I want the car to look decent obviously.

The car is just going to be painted black again.

Can anyone recommend a good paint process to look for or know any good paint shops in the greater Toronto area they can recommend?

How can identify a good paint process or what kind of prep work needs to be done beforehand?

Best bet is take it to a few body shops and get some quotes. I'm sure you will be looking at a complete repaint to make it right.

Are you planning to do any of the prep work yourself?

I don't mind doing the prep work. In fact I'd love to do everything, even the painting. But lord knows how that would turn out plus I don't have any equipment.

What consists of the prep work though? There is a small dent in the passenger door that I don't think I could repair without the proPer tools.

This has essentially what you need. I don't agree with all of it - but it gives you an excellent idea of whats involved.
