Park Brake handle cover removal- Help!

Hey all, I need to replace the plastic cover that goes on the park brake handle. The piece that you hold when you pull the lever. My car's an '01. the previous owner glued (insanely) a carbon-look cover on the handle, and when I took it off, it destroyed the finish on the grip. I just need to know the "trick" to pulling the old one off, so I can put a new one on. Thanks in advance...

Is there not a small Allen key bolt on the underside???

Not that I can find. I was at Sidney Auto Wreckers today and couldn't see anything. I'm going back tomorrow to try and take one off a wreck. Rather than break mine trying and not be able to replace it.

Well, problem solved. I cut the damn thing off. I dug out my swiss army knife, with the super sharp saw, and hacked it all off, in pieces. I couldn't, for the life of me, see how the grip is held on. I think it's pressed on. Anyway, bought a new billet handle and it looks better. Thanks for the ideas, though.
