I'll keep the top up if I'm on a short trip and going to keep it parked for a while for security reasons. Otherwised I love driving with the top down. That's why I got it!

Got a buddy with a convertible and those are the reasons I hear most often from him as well. Nice to have friends with convertibles, because then you get to enjoy the whole convertible experience, but if it's too hot or too cold, you can go back to your coupe and adjust accordingly, and then not worry about using the top too much/not enough.

Of all the cars that I have had over the years this is my first convertible. The car is cool looking with the top down and the light bar gives it a unique look. With the side windows down it looks cool too with the hardtop look. With the top up it looks cool. I think that it's just a cool car and a fun toy.

You reminded me of my 82 GP t-top. I used to have the tops off at 5c and to combat the cold all I did was crank up the heat:chacha:

I've owned 9 Mustangs and only 1 was a vert. I'm not sure if I would have another. It just wasn't really my thing. Plus with the 05 and up cars I love the look of the coupe way more.

I have been conducting a roadway poll. I came up beside some folks on Sunday at stoplights with convertibles all with the top up and the windows open. I would say: "it's a beautiful sunny day why is the top up?" as I sat in my pony with the top down. I was told that they feel uncomfortable with the top down. I asked: "uncomfortable?". They would say: "exposed".

It occurred to me that because I have ridden motorcycles for so many years I'm used to being "exposed" but some people who think they want a convertible and then buy one don't think of that until they put the top down and then feel exposed as opposed to all safe and cozy in a coupe with a roof. I'll bet this is why some people only ever own ONE convertible.

For me another reason for the coupe is because I love the roofline as someone else already stated. If I owned a vert Pony I would definitely put on a lightbar as I do like that look.

This is my first vert and I'm loving it, I agree with only driving with the top down I love the look of the light bar the only time my top is up is if I'm driving to work and there is a slight morning chill

I had a vert for almost two years. I really enjoyed it and had the top down whenever the weather was good but I didn't feel it was as safe with young children in the back seat.

I had a 2002 GT vert and the back seat did not have head rests and the seat backs were quite short. The newer models are better designed now but the thought of a possible accident with young children in the back of convertible kind of scares me.

The convertible top also takes away some width on the seat as well - the kids are a little farther apart in my 06 GT coupe. Believe me, any extra space between them makes a big difference!:)
