Questions

Hey everyone, just want to know some things about the mixing and matching of parts. Im looking at maybe changing my MAF from the 4 banger to the 5.0l size, and I'm wondering if the electrical connection is going to be the same. Plus, If the fuel injectors are the same from a 4 cyl to an 8 cyl.

Also, Is it hard to change rearend gears? I plan on swapping out my crappy stock ones for 3.73's from a Bronco rearend. I might just go ahead and get the gears, and let a mechanic do it when I get the diff oil changed. I hope the splines are the same...

Anyway, Im just looking to squeeze a couple ponies out, and get down the track a little faster. If any of you have suggestions, that'd be great. Just simple cost effective stuff. Sticking with the 4 banger for now, and I'll do a v8 swap later. Oh btw, the car is girlymatic.

Thanks.

i would plan on getting someone to do your gears you need some special tools for setting up backlash and such. if its not set up right the gears will ware wrong and they will be nosiey. as for the rest i have no idea

Essentially the dynamite stick theory?

Leave the MAF alone, No benefit from changing it at this point.

if i were you, i would look into a turbo setup from a SVO.

hey jibi, what year is your car ? if its an auto as you say it should already be 3.73 (t5's are 3.55) as far as cheap mods go if you still have the stock intake box and tubing on - remove the silencer off the front of the box . inside the intake tube between the intake box and the throttle body there is a very small (and very restrictive) tube, remove this . also replace the stock air filter with a K&N one . you can also put on a exhaust header from an early ranger pick-up (wreckers) or you can get a header from racerwalsh.com for about 175.00 and lastly a set of #36 injectors . this should hopefully give you a slight increase or like it was stated earlier GO BOOST thumb:
