Rear Seat Delete group buy! Any interest?

Rear Seat Delete group buy! Any interest? Like it reads.

I have had an interest in this mod as only one person has sat in the back seat since I took it outta storage this spring. To boot it was my daughters best friend on the way to a concert that I got tickets for them for my daughters birthday. (I think there is a thread still kicking around on the board about that escapade). lol Anyway if I would not have got the tickets no one would have been in the back. :tup

I have another thread on here asking if any are made in Canada as I would like to keep my busines in this country.
But.......as most things we need to go south so I am going to find out from the two companies how much shipping and duty is for delivery etc. I need to know if any of you have any interest in a group buy as the one site will knock $20.00 off the price of each with 5 orders.

Now I know you could probably just spend $100.00 for materials and make one but I do not think that you would get the logo correct and the proper colours etc. My opinion. Hey if you can make one that looks and fits this good I'll buy it from you.:)

I think with taxes in and shipping and conversion they will be around $300.00 CAD give or take a few dollars. They are $195.00/175.00 USD on the site

This company sells them with logos. Here is the site.

http://www.rearseatdeletes.com/index...02ad6476dc4e96

Other company below, no logo, carpet or not.
These ones are $199.00 or 169.00 USD

www.rearseatdelete.com

Let me know if we have any interest!

Vendors or sponsers your welcome to see if you can better this price for us and I will purchase them from you guys. :) Thanks.

Here is a shot of the logo one for $195.00 US installed in a Mach 1 form another Mach site where I got the idea from. I emailed him and got the particulars and asked how it is standing up and he said great and fit was good. As you can see it includes the back part and the seat area.

Not to hijack your post, but that seems a little excessive for a insert to hide your seat.

It does replace the whole back seat and hardware. The rear seat delete only weighs 4 pounds and with the seats out and the hardware (belts, child safety bar, etc) you are saving upwards of 30 pounds off the rear end for racing.:) It all counts.

You can always make one yourself and probably make it even lighter than 4 pounds depending on the material that you use. It doesn't seem that hard, just cutting the base board to the right size, carpeting it, hinging top to bottom and making a latch system. Probably cost $20 if you do it yourself and you can have it entirely custom. Just depends on how crafty you are.

i like this one:
but i dont think that it is worth the money, and it might decrease the value of the car

I just folded the rear seats down, and laid down a thin black rubber like tarp. I am not so crafty! :banghead:

For 240CDN, you must be able to make something just as good or get something locally.

With more people mentioning this,I agree it is alot of money. Maybe I should look into local places that could infact offer something like this up. I have found a template on line and also have a friend with a template that I could use if needed.

Will keep you posted. Thanks all.

Thanks and I am starting to see that. Here is an email that he sent to me about a few questions. So far so good.

Mr. Fonger,

I have not shipped a rear seat delete to Canada yet. You would be the
first. The time frame for a rear seat delete to be shipped is no more than
3 weeks. I don't actually know who I would use to ship the rsd to you
though. I'll have to check on it. The only thing that's ever been shipped
to Canada by me was my leather seats out of my mustang and they were
actually shipped to NY and the buyer came over the border to get them and
bring them back. Let me check into it and I'll get back with you about the
shipping. I look forward to doing business with you in the future.
