removing car alarm

Hey there,
I just bought an '02 mustang. I got one key, no fob and and an alarm system which has to be shut off before the car will start. My concern is the fob for the car alarm is so worn I there are no labels and it is held together by electrical tape. I have looked in the engine compartment to find the alarm system hoping I could replace the fob, but no luck finding. I looked under the driver side dash, but can't see anything. Any ideas? Should I just take it to an automotive electrical place and have them remove it?
Thanks

I would just have it removed. A good installer can hide them really well.

^^^ x 2. Take it to a car audio shop and have that crap ripped out - before it's too late and you're stranded somewhere. Then I'd head to my nearest Ford dealership and grab me a new fob.
