Restoration Project - 2007 Mustang GT

As most of you are aware I bought a pre-owned 2007 Mustang GT from a Vancouver area FORD dealer. Contrary to the glowing internet advertisement the vehicle needed a bit of care after delivery, starting with a new battery and starter motor.

The next step was a trip to Dent Kingz in Kelowna to have one dent pulled out on the the upper left front fender well and one on the right passenger door. They also applied touch up paint to 6 small locations.

Bought some paint to repair the deep gouge or rock chip on the left front hood paint stripe. Rock chip required four applications of paint to fill the hole.

Then it required a deep clean wash, claybar followed by Meguiar's Compound W, polish, and Meguiar's Ultimate Wax applied by power polished at each stage. The final step in the paint restoration was an application of Chemical Guy's Butter Wax. All dealer decals where removed. Not sure why they put that crap on there in the first place.

The leather seats in have been cleaned with Chemical Guy's Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. I had to clean out the air box and repalced the filter with a K&N.

The following parts have been bought to give the GT a bit of a departure from the former rental/lease vehicle look;

1. Chrome shifter knobs
2. Chrome a/c vent knobs
3. Chrome hand brake cover
4. Black shorty antenna
5. Chrome strut mount caps
6. Chrome Door Pins
7. Chrome Electrical Plug
8. Black Outer Door Edging
9. Chrome Shaker Radio Buttons.
10. Medium Blue Electronic Key Fob.
11. CJ Pony Parts Hood Struts (January 04, 2015).
12. Mirror Bezel
13. American Muscle Decal
14. Shifter Bezel.
15. Spare Chip Key

Now I just have to wait for winter to go away so I can put the hammer down.

13. American Muscle Decal .

No decals for me either, I hope you put the AM one under the hood. That's the only place I would put them if I had any. I mostly put them on my toolbox in the garage.

I understand the reason for the ones you put on your hood.

You have done a beautiful job on bringing the Mustang back to a very tasteful showroom piece. Keep up the good work Ray :tup

The decal is meant for the Shelby windows as seen on my '05. Thanks for the kind comments. She does look good. If only the '07 GT could talk.
