I want turn my 1990 GT into a road race track car, i have been looking around for DECH stuff, but i cant find the ASG rear. Since i cant find the DECH stuff, im open to suggetions on suspension packages from other companys. im looking at Griggs Racing and from what i have read they seem like they know there stuff. Any ideas?

DECH stopped making stuff a while back. Guilt Trip has a few things for sale.

Maximum Motorsports, as Andy indicated. Its likely to be a bit heavier duty than the Griggs, but the Griggs is likely just a shade faster.

Steeda is another way to go.

And, Evolution Motorsport is gaining credibility.

What kind of road racing are you thinking of getting into?

as far as the racing i want to get into...for now just some track days, once i learn to drive ...im going to look into solo1.

 

With all due respect, or lack there of...Steeda is not an option. While they make some quality pieces, the majority aren't, IMO. Maximum Motorsports is prolly the best choice available now.

Well if you are intrested in installing an IRS into you fox, its not going to be cheap. You will need:
* Driveshaft
* E-Brake Cables
* Upper and Lower Control Arms (All Hardware and Springs)
* Rear Shocks
* Center Differential Snub and Bracket
* Solid Rear Axle Assembly
* Catback Exhaust Assembly
* Fuel Tank

Yes... I edited the post because I immediately got a call from a forum member friend who tried to convince me that solid axle will handle just as well...

I didn't want this thread to turn into IRS vs. SA, that's all.

It looks like I will pass on the IRS... it is more than I want to do to my fox stang. If I go IRS, it will be in an Edge stang and I'll park or sell the fox.

I'll see what this car can do with the SA setup, but I'm definitely going to have to swap to a more appropriate setup. Steeda sold me parts that were labelled as "drag" shocks, but insisted that they were the same as the road shocks (same P/N). Anyways, aside from the "parts bin" steeda setup, the car doesn't handle as I would like it to even though it seems very decent on the street.

 

As mentioned, if you want the car to work well, and need guidance on choosing the right parts, go to Maximum Motorsports. They support some of the quickest cars running in American Sedan and American Iron racing.

If I was to put together a Fox track car again, I'd be giving them a call.

I saw the MM car in action in the videos on their website. Phenomenal is the least I can say.

Passed 8 cars in ONE lap after getting spun by another driver and ending up dead last. The guy was overtaking cars on the outside like it was nothing! Unbelievable handling on their AI Fox car... WOW.

I suppose I'll stick with what I have for this season and make a decision near the end and execute it over the winter season.
