Roush Speed Shop tour
Roush Speed Shop tour
While in Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise we decided to drive over to Plymouth MI and check out the Roush Speed Shop. We had no idea that we would be able to tour the shop. When we got there they were just about to start a tour and told us we were welcome to bring our camera. Very cool! Here are some pics....

A few guys mentioned the Roush Museum and said there was an open house on the weekend and we should check it out. So we drove a few more miles west and found the Roush Museum. You walk into a novelty store full of Jack Roush memorabilia and at the back of the store is a door that looks like an emergency exit, very inconspicuous. But then you open the door.....

Thanks. It was an awesome day...especially since it wasn't planned. The cars coming into the Roush Speed Shop go through the wash bay on their way into the shop. I've never heard of a shop that washes the cars before they work on them. When a mechanic installs a supercharger, he's the only mechanic to touch it beginning to end. Then they run it on the dyno. A small Roush plate is installed in the engine compartment with the dyno specs and the mechanic's name. Can you imagine strolling through a Mustang "show 'n shine" event and seeing your name inside a few of the cars? Pretty cool!
