ouch. you might find that it is more than just a little hole. you might need to refabricate the whole door jam. as soon as you start to grind you will see it is more than you anticipated. if you are looking for an inexpensive fix. cut a peice of sheet metal a little bigger than the hole. then get some panel adhesive and glue the sheet metal from the back side. wait a few minutes for it to harden then fill with body filler of reinforced fiberglass body filler. sand smooth and paint. wont last too long but will be nice for a while.
Don't mean to sound like i am careless, or something. I just know what i would do if it where me in your situation.

I agree with this. When you think there is one little spot, it is usually much bigger then what we see. Seen to many fox chassis stangs like that. If it really isn't that bad, definitely fix it right, but if that spot is really bad, i would check the whole chassis over before i would go any further. That's just me though. No matter how much you try to stop the rust, it will always come back.

If your car (mine in this case lol) has never been in the rain/snow and kept in a super dry heated garage I can assume rust will take forever to take hold. We have what is considered semi-arid type climate here so humidity is usually quite low.
