Shocks/Struts
Okay so my car bumps around like a crazy bull so I need new shocks/struts all the way around. My question is what are you guys running?? Stock replacements are $130 each, I called Steeda and it seems like they have everything under the sun. I dont want to spend alot of money but I know I shouldnt skimp, So far I priced Tokiko aluminum adjustables (about $250 each) the stock ones, and KYB GR2S ($100 each). I had GR2's in my other car and I liked them so im inclined to pick up some of them up. I plan on taking my car to the track probally 2 - 3 times a summer and I might try some auto X depending on how things go.
I plan on getting springs at the same time or very shortly after |
I picked up a set of Tokico Illumina 5 way adjustables on ebay for a good price. Only installed the shocks so far but it was a huge difference. Pretty much completely eliminated my wheel hop...

The tokikos that I got priced from Steeda best price I found is about $1000 all the way around

This is where I got mine:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOKIC...QQcmdZViewItem Total in CDN came out to $550 with tax. I had them shipped to my aunt's in Michigan and I popped over and got them with a few other parts. |
That looks like a pretty good deal thats cheaper than the KYB's..
Any problems with the seller or the quality?? |
Nope none at all. Came in sealed boxes and got there within the week I ordered.
Not sure if you have a US shipping address but that's how I did it... no idea how it would be when shipping to Canada. Although all the fees will still be cheaper than buying here. |
When ordering parts from the US - I see if the vendor will ship by UPS to a UPS store close to my border crossing. The UPS store will hold it for 2 weeks. I drive across, pay $5 to the UPS store - and pick them up. So - as long as you're close to the border - that's an option that may work for a lot of US orders.

It says he ships to canada why wouldnt I just get him to ship it here?
|
Beware of brokerage fees.
That's the reason I will not ship here. UPS and FedEx are evil companies. |
The Ford OEM 2003 - 2004 Mach I shocks & struts, which are Tokico Premium non-adjustables, are a pretty good deal at around $420 wholesale price for the set of 4.
cheers Ed N. |
Get only the best ........Bilsteins.......non are better
|
I also had the Tokico Illuma's on my '98 Cobra, car rode great, handled awesome and could be fine-tuned to the type of driving you're into. IMO Tokico are the best bet for you, another option as fast Ed suggested is the Mach 1 set, they're also a nice riding unit but a little soft for my taste, good luck with whatever you choose.

Well I going to order the Tokiko's next week and will install them as soon as I get them, My car rides like its drunk right now bouncing everywhere. I'm definately going to be noticing a night / day differnce.
