SLP Cat back installed today on the Mach1

Just got the SLP Loudmouth Cat back installed today. They sound great, I really like the burble they give on deceleration. I could not wind it up on the road today and it was a mix of snow and rain. Next clear day.

They are not that loud as some have explained/described. They are louder than stock but not crazy loud or anoying. I did not change the stock H pipe so maybe that tamed them.

Overall I really like them and they went on no problems. All hardware was top notch and the fit and finish was excellent. A well deservered mod after a long winter. :)

I also made the switch to Royal Purple full synthetic 5w20 motor oil today.

Congrats on the purchase.
Any problems on the install? Cat-backs are usually straight-forward assuming they fit properly. :) heh

Can't wait to hear it...
You have any pics from the install?

gfong 04-03-2005 09:05 AM

I never took any pics as I thought of that after the fact. :(

May be able to do a sound clip once the snow goes away.lol April 3rd car is covered in snow. :laughhard

Install was straight forward, hardest part was deciding where to cut the old off. Lined up great. No issues.

Nope, I had someone else do it while I watched some of the time.

the stock H-pipe would tame the sound of the loudmouth very very much so. to get the full roar, you would need an off road x-pipe, or a catted, the x on my car really made the magnaflows howl. and i got cats, i cant wait to hear it without, he he he :chacha:. maybe you could line up a slp-x for your next mod, its well worth it :tup
