SO.. who won, who lost, what'd you guys all run????

Man you all have some damn nice cars that's fer sure :tup

I got my goal with the SVO and went 1.840, 12.94 @ 106.68 MPH. This was still with the stock untouched 21 yr old 2.3 engine top to bottom - head, cam, and all.. [never had the valve cover off yet], also stock/original: turbo, injectors, fuel pumps, rear & gears, and a stock 88 T Bird EEC no chipping at all. I did get mad as it was bogging ther first two passes [13.1s] leaving at around 5300, and so the last 3 passes as the tree was coming down I floored it against the stock limiter [6500 in T Bird EEC] and dumped :chacha: I guess I yanked the wheel a couple times.

Only real big mods are: my ported stock intake & ex manifolds, big intercooler, 3" down pipe, wideband 02 for tuning, and wheels/slicks, race gas, and weight removal - it's no more than 2650 LBs, likely less... I left the spout unplugged and locked the timing in at 26* fixed, and ran 23 PSI boost. A/F was mid/upper 11s most of the day.

Now I need to get my 2 step working and get my 8.8/373s in. And go back in October when its 50-60* and see if i can get a 12.60 on the stock crap.

And the picture guy even took this cool pic :) I had a kick ass day.

So let's here how everyone else did!!!! ??? Like I said... you guys have some NICE cars.. I was in awe. I almost felt kinda ghetto w/ my old 84 4 cyl car lol...

Hey Steve,
I know how you feel...and your car makes mine look more like a rustang lol ...they do have some sweet rides.

The heat and humidity was terrible for turbo cars (and everyone else as well) so your high 12s were very impressive :)

Personally my day wasn't all that great, but I didn't break anything serious so that's good.

My first run had the best launch (pulled the wheel but no 60ft on time slip :cry2: ), but I missed second gear (tranny is nearly dead). I still recovered and ran a 13.650 @99.78

That launch did end it for my rear end though....all one wheel for the next two runs. It's funny though, the next two runs prove (second time I've done this) that removing the belt isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Belt off - LONG cool down
1.811 60ft 13.411@100.26

Belt on - SHORT cool down
1.810 60ft 13.486@99.08

Had that second run had the same LONG cool down it probably would have been even closer....

Note - if you want to argue my findings about removing the belt Go here :D

Who's next?

Nice runs you Essex county boys. I still do not know how you can do that to your cars :laughhard My consumption for 400 kms was 23 liters of petrol. :tup The funniest thing that happened all day was when I pulled up to the gate, and the young feller asked if I wanted to race the Wave :laughhard :laughhard . It was also nice to meet gfong finally. He's a very pleasant guy, and being ex-infantry doesn't hurt either. Nice runs to all the guys. Upon arriving home I looked at my ultra clean 05 gt in the driveway and smiled. It was clean and there was no wear and tear on her  With all the painkillers I ingested I was asleep by 8:30. Oh well :banghead:

BIZ 09-18-2005 06:40 AM

My best of the day was a 12.10 @ 115 MPH, by the end of the day I was running consistant 12.1's...no 11's today for Biz but it was really humid yesterday. It was alot of fun...good to see so many Mutangs out...think there were at least 40+...good day for sure!!! :tup

Ran a best of 13.32 at 104. Prety good for a new drag radial, no excuses here. Had fun and was glad that I met Paul and Bear form Windsor. Really nice guys and if they lived closer, would probably hang out with them. lol:) Nice meeting the two of you and I am glad I did. I will make it down to Windsor for something by years end.

Paul, your car is probably thanking you right now for letting her sleep. Nice meeting the two fo you again and great turn out for sure.

Next stop Cayuga this Saturday the 24th Sept if no rain and if rain the 25th. :tup

I ended up going to Grand Bend for Windsor Weekend with my brother and his girlfriend. Was pretty fun and we saw some cool things like the jet dragster.

When are you guys going to St. Thomas again? I told my brother I'd take him sometime and teach him how to race at the track. Hopefully he'll have his Lincoln Mark VII ready so I can take that up and he'll take his Mark VIII. He's aiming for 12s in the Mark VIII and I'm not sure what the VII will run... probably 14s as it is now.

Steeda.ca represented large with the silver 03 cobra running a 10sec pass and a bunch of quick GT's. Fastest 03 cobra in Canada and probally one of the fastest, if not the fastest modular motor in canada right now.

The cobra is a full weight, IRS Vert!!
