thread for broke guys

how many guys on here have pieced together cars wit NO or mostly no loot $ & go fast?...built from backyard junk? (cuz thats all you could afford)... now this is not necessarily TRACK fast....STREET fast...in other words you built a car that can pretty much put a hurt on anything on the street...

Good call. I must say since the internet has come out it is much easier to source used parts. When I had my first Mustangs it there weren't sites like kijiji to look around on.

Used parts are easy to find, especially on big dollar part outs. Prime example is my old stang. Guy parted it out, parts are cheap and I am sure hes still negotiable to some degree.

I haven't built anything on the cheap cheap. When I did the 7up vert I sourced all used parts with the exception of the seals. I started out with a good deal on the car and some ok deals on parts and broke even when selling. There is tons of junk out there for sale, so be cautious.

when I first joined the site I noticed the ECU kit but I thought it was expensive

is there an advantage to this kit as opposed to what is already built & available in the aftermarket?

right now my car has no special ECU tune
