Tracking the history of a 68 Mustang

Hello Everyone;

I just became the proud owner of a 1968 Mustang. While she is not a trailer queen she is a solid car. It was restored 12 years ago and I am trying to trace the history of the car. The car has changed hands twice since the restoration.

At this point all I know is that the person how bought the car from the person who restored it lives in Calgary and has the last name Macintosh.

If anybody can help me, give pointers etc. on how to trace the history it would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a picture:

Boy, these ones are always tough, try running the VIN at your local licence office. Last time this happened, Fitzy was looking for Don Edwards in London, and trust me, it all went bad, so...welcome welcome and good luck with the search.

Welcome to cmoc! Good luck with the search!

I have tried that however due to the Freedom of Information Act they will not give it to me. They will just tell me where it was registered but no names.

Welcome to CMOC. I know you're out west, but you could try Service Ontario and see what happens. For $20.00 it could be worth the shot. You won't know if you don't try.

Good looking Mustang.

You could try talking to Matt or Bruce at the Mustang Shop, They might know the car.
Maybe when it was restored they bought the parts there.
Or you could try some of the members from the Alberta Mustang Auto Club to see if someone remembers the car.

Hope to see you out at Grey Eagle next summer on Wednesday nights, love to see the car up close.
Come say hi, if you see my car. My Plate say "OUTRGUS"

Thanks for the tips. Your car is a beauty. I wanted the fastback however as this is my first vintage car I wanted something less expensive and something my daughter and I could tinker with over the winter.
