Exclamation To turbo or not to turbo

Alright let's face it my 2011 v6 can only get so much power off a cai headers tune yady yada... Real power. Turbo.. Supercharge.. both very good but obviously you get more boost from turbos. I might be able to throw on a turbo and all in all be at around $5000.. Nuts this isn't about is it worth it or not, but more about will this ef up my motor or not?

Read around some of the forums and find out what others have done and what the power limits are for the motor. It's all in the tune, but you will also probably need a better clutch, drive shaft, fuel pump etc... to keep it reliable. Not sure what the limits of the 3.7 are but there was a boosted one on here not to long ago, see if you can find his thread.

Awesome thanks mate. I also heard the supercharger is more reliable then the turbos especially if it's a daily driver

Really ey.. I hope so because I love the boost you get with a turbo you just won't get that with a supercharger. I man I've seen ridiculous twin turbo set ups on mustang I can only imagine the pull those things have. One turbo would be just fine for me but I'm one of those guys where I'd rather get something that big done right or not at all because I'd hate to blow a motor.

Dam what a bad a$$ mustang. Hard to believe that's a v6.
I really wanna do it as long as I'm not gonna be messing up my motor. I was hoping I'd be able to get everything done for about $5000. Not sure if that'll be possible

No increase in horsepower comes without some sort of risk, so the potential to mess up your engine is always there, makes sense as you increase one variable, you affect many others , pushing the engineered boundary of safety and reliability of the parts. But, like they said so perfectly in Mad Max - Speed is just a question of money - how fast can you go? Heres some interesting reading for you.

A member of another forum I am on has had a lot of headaches trying to turbo his 3.7. You can read about it here... Gone Turbo This Time - The Mustang Collective Forums

If you still have any questions after reading, sign up, and shoot him a few questions...Jim is a good guy, and I'm sure he would be more than happy to let you pick his brain.
