Upper and lower control arm bushings could be gone.............. :headscrat

Year, model, mileage on the car? Current suspension mods, if any? Recent part replacements? Unstable under what conditions?
Quad shocks won't affect it much, they're mostly to help control wheel hop under acceleration. Could be dead control arm bushings as mentioned. What is the condition of the shocks, springs, and tires? Help us help you ... :) cheers Ed N. |

My 89 was hopping around on me.Found out the upper control arm bushings were right out of the arms they were so worn out.Had new lower arms in it s.s lift bars.Put new steeda uppers in it tighter than new now.

With the rear upper arms, take a look at the bushings that go in the "ears" on the axle housing that the upper arms attach to ... those bushings are pressed in the housing, not in the arms.
I remember when we ran my friend's 88 in a 24 hour race years ago, those bushings were completely pounded out ... just the steel shell left in there !! cheers Ed N. |
ok cool, that will be one of the firstthings i check when it gets back from the body shop!! That and the u-joints need to be done... thanks guys

Well I hope I was of some help to you.By the way the bushings in the axle are real fun to get out to.Just so you know if you do change them.
