V6 mod if I owned one-would it work?

If i owned an 05 V6 model on I would try and somehow fit the new SHO-Lincoln motor into the engine bay. I'm not sure of the cost of a crate motor but if the price was too high a person could wait for a wreak and pull the motor. The new Lincoln stats show it is as fast as a stock Mustang Gt and in the lighter V6 Mustang it would be a screamer. Any thoughts especially from the V6 crowd:tup

lol the v6 is lighter fo a reason.. two less cylinders, suspension, rear end.. the list goes on.. be a sweet idea tho and i like it :tup but i'd rather save the hassle and slam er in a GT. all that wiring and reworking everything would blow hard...

There is talk that the 2011 Mustang V6 will use the 3.5 instead of the 4.0. If this is the case it would be much easier for sure. Still more cost effective to throw more power or shave the weight on a GT though.

In my mind the Mustang was made to be an 8. If I wanted a fast 6 I'd get an Audi or Subaru or something...

I agree 100% with you. To each his own though.

Yes, totally. It was just my opinion and not intended to offend.

I still like the look of the 6 over the cars mentioned above. Mind you some of the Audi's etc do look nice:tup

Almost all front wheel drive cars feature a differently cast block then the same engine in a rear wheel drive so it probably wouldn't fit very well. I find those swap type projects are almost never worth the effort.

It would be cool to see an SVO Mustang with the Ecoboost 3.5.
