Hmm I was thinking it might be tight. I am still leaning towards a 302.

There is alot you can do with a 302.Just depends what your end goal is.I have a very mild 302 in my comet that pushes it to high 12 second 1/4 mile times and with the 5 speed it gets 24-26 mpg on the highway. The only way i would go with a 351w based engine is if i was planning a big inch stroker build in the future.

Are you looking for an engine to rebuild? I may be able to help you out with a motor. I have a few old vehicles, and engines at a buddy's farm. I have mostly big blocks, 390's and 460's, but I'm sure I have a couple 302's as well. If you're interested, I will have a look next time I'm out there. I do have an old 260V8 Mustang engine, but not sure of the condition of the block, so wouldn't want to sell that one to you.

Yes I would like to find a 302 to rebuild. Let me know what you find and how much.

Yeah that's why I thought I would throw it out there. I'm sure I have a couple 302's from 67-72 f100's. I will check them out, when I get to the farm next, and make sure they're not stuck.
