Whipple + Nitrous + 4.10's will definitely light up the tires on the Termi. How much RWHP you aiming for?

It's just under 500 rwhp now on a Mustang dyno, looking for 6-650.

Nothing crazy. Finally getting around to upgrading my V6 to GT brakes. I've been on the fence for a while, as I really like the sleeper look of the stock 16" wheels on the '05-'09 base V6 cars, but there is no room for larger rotors, and tire selection/grip are minimal.
I looked at GT 18" Fanblades, 18" Bullitts and '07-'08 GT500 take-offs, but holy sh!t, they're heavy! A lot of aftermarket wheels are either too flashy, too heavy, or both. When I found some simple 18X9" 5-spoke wheels that weigh ~19lbs at a decent price, my mind was made up. Tires will be 255/45/18 RE 760s. The chassis brace is just the K-member brace that came OE on convertibles and GT500s. |
TO get light wheels is not cheap.
you either need to get spun forged or true forged wheels, most of those start at 400/500 and go up. Really light wheels are really expensive. Just ask me :) |
No kidding!

The wheels are coming from a company I never would have considered...Motegi. I always thought of them as those cheap wheels you get from Canadian Tire for your riced out Civic, but they actually have some nice stuff. The wheels are "flow formed", which I assumed was their way of saying cast, but apparently is also known as spin/roll forging. The model is MR131 Traklite. TireRack only shows the 18 in an 8" wide wheel, but a local distributor was able to order them in a 9" width for about CDN$300/wheel.
