1966 project & questions

Good evening,

I am a new owner (last fall) of a 1966 rebuilt coupe that was built / made to look like a GT350.
Basically the owner took a 1966 engine and body and made modifications to make it look like a GT350, all with new parts, heathers, dual exhaust, etc.

I have two questions for the experts reading this:
- Will these modifications / reproductions make this car undesirable for car shows since it's not all original?
- Is it worth it for me to keep investing in the project since this car is so modified, will it still have a fair value?

My first project would be to turn the 289 2V into 4V.

I bought the car because I loved it, not really as an investment.

All comments are welcome.

Great looking car! If you like the car it's worth doing what you want to it. Since it's modified already have you considered a Coyote swap? You could source one out of an F150 from a wrecker and buy a control pack from Ford Racing.

Your car will be welcomed with open arms at any car show, It's a fine looking GT350 clone.

As for value changing to a 4v, it wont change a thing.

I own a highly modified 68 mustang fastback, and i do not worry about what others think or what mods will do to the value. If your worried about the value(money) you have the wrong investment. Cars are to be driven and enjoyed.

Here a pic of mine, I drive it to car show everywhere, Drag Race & Auto Cross it and loving every Minute of it.

Congrats and welcome, drive it, enjoy it, drive it again.

Let your mutual funds managers worry about investments and fair value, you never buy a car as an investment and its only worth what someones willing to pay, so drive it, enjoy it, drive it again. Nice ride.

I like Chads idea to drop a Coyote in the bad boy.

Sounds like 2 different issues...looks vs performance.

Are you looking to make it more Cobra looking or are you looking for tire burning upgrades. I assume it burns the tires now??? (Yes/No)

Yes, but it could be more powerful. That's why I'm wondering what is the next step besides changing the whole engine because it's such in good condition I don't want to swap it.
