77 mustang
 

Hey im in Ottawa and just bought a 1977 mustang off of a buddy. him and his uncle worked on the car and put alot of money into it. it has a 302 edelbrock engine in it, custom interior, and i just bought new rims/tires for it which i havnt installed. i Dont know much about engines but i know that aside from the obvious body work that needs to be done, i know the headers in the engine need to be either adjusted or replaced. i def need alot of advice, as i dont even know where to begin looking for someone to tune the engine and get it back in tip top shape because theres alot of potential. body work and paint are getting done in a month, dont know about colours

Welcome aboard. To be honest, you are one of the only Mustang II owners I've seen on here. That being said under the hood is really not much different than any of the pre fuel injection Mustangs. I wouldn't get too concerned about not having immediate response to your post, sometimes it takes people a few days to check the new posts. It may help if you post some more specific questions as to what you need help with.

Welcome, congrats on the new ride, looks like its in pretty good shape for the vintage. +1 to what Chad said, anything posted past 8:00pm and I'm usually in bed, so don't sweat it if no one jumps right away.

here are some other pics. i really need advice on what accessories i should buy. lie i said i have a 7k budget. I dont know anything about motors but know the previous owner disabled the engine from the inside and that i have to pop the hood and choke it....i think im gonna get that converted back though, any ideas on costs for the engine? Suggesttions on colours would be great! also does anyone know if that front bumper is fiberglass?? because im about to order a new bumper for the back but dont know if i shoul order a fiberglass one or if i should bring it to a autobody guy and get him to weld a different bumper from a different car on to it

I would get the car into a good mechanic to get the choke and such sorted out. Once you know it's running good then you can play from there. Valve covers and a new air cleaner would be a good place to start for dress up. There are plenty of other accessories available from some of our site sponsors.

As far as bodywork goes, I would buy proper replacement parts vs hacking up a bumper off who knows what to fit, but that's just my opinion. A quick google search shows a few outlets for restoration parts.

As far as color, that's pretty subjective. On those cars I like bright colors.
