finally

finally bought my first mustang. I've appreciated these cars ever since I was a kid, when my cousing bought an 86 GT some 16 years ago.

anyway, I picked up a 97 Cobra last week. car is bone stock, and needs some minor work. Can't wait till spring. I forgot how fun mustangs are to drive.

great site by the way.

welcome to the board

Stew 02-25-2009 07:22 PM

wow, thanks for the welcomes. I will post pics of the car soon. some mods will be done. def suspension and maybe gears. have to get it to work and figure out a clutch issue before anything else. previous owner just had clutch done. burning smell after short easy drive. no slipping though. wonder if cable is hanging up a bit or something.
the 97 would not have been my first choise, but couldn't pass up the deal

fox5 02-25-2009 07:51 PM

maybe grease or oil was left on the exhaust that is burning off?

Stew 02-26-2009 09:40 AM

def clutch smell. pulled fork cover off, and can smell it bigtime. at least I can see the clutch is new.
