Hell and back

Hey guys im fairly new, and if you live in my region then you know who i am because im the only car of its kind. 2003 gt 4R07w torch red biege vert top. Well just last year after i installed new gt500 rims i also grabbed 1" spacers for the rear, couple mnonths later i was doing donuts in a public parking lot when i strated to notice clicking, only when turning left.. i took it eveyrhwere to get checked out and no1 could figure out what this clicking was.. finally i took it to ford and they hoist it up and ran the car noticin the left sides woblin.. payd them for there labour and took it to a shop to get fixed, turns out my axles bent and stock gears was missing a tooth and we found it later falling out of my lsd. So i fixed it got 31 spline, new lsd and 4.10's. that was 6 months ago, 4 months ago i hit a curb bent my rear end, snapping my axle.. ( and im not sure whether my brand new lsd, and 4.10s are still in good condition to re use)Its since then been sitting in my garage, i did find a rear end and its also sitting my garage, all im waiting for is april 21 when class is over so i can have time and take it to a shop and get er fixed.. this year alone i think i spent and will be spending well over 4k.. and im starting to regret most of it, gettin to the point where almost calling my towtruck buddy to take it to the trash.. but im holding up

this exludes the number of tickets ive recieved speeding.. all in all i think i learned my lesson..

Don't take it to the trash, I'll come get it. Seriously though it may be frustrating but we learn from our mistakes I guess.

I busted an axle so I know what you are going through, hang in there

I've never busted an axle, but have damaged the ring, and pinion, and related parts drag racing in my old 5.0L.LOL!Tickets aren't good either. :bleh:
Lessons to be learned.Be smart, keep your eyes peeled, and know when to have fun.

why not save yourself a bunch of money and swap the rear end yourself. a rear end is very basic to change in these cars

now is a great time to learn how yourself

i know its fairly easy to install the rear end myself but i dont have that much room in my garage, and frankly i dont want to take any chances i just want to get it done right. And as far as my insurance knows my car is is running top down right now. :P

who needs room i have taken these cars bare in a stone drive way there are numerous people on here that can help guide ya through it

Bangii '03 04-12-2011 06:08 PM

i understand but im not very comfortable doing it myself, anyways my mother yells at me when i do oil changes, taking apart half my car would just give her a heart attack :P

and if i were to do it id need alot of help... like for one where would i put the jack stands since right now there on my axle carriers keeping my car afloat, a rear end is very heavy how will i bring it down once detached, using a mini lift (whihc i do have) also how about if my car is more damaged then expected.. i think i would rather take it somhwere and spend the 600$ and get it done right.. im still young and yes im into the whole diy s#it but im not that experience.. the most i did was change the oil and couple time, changed the fuel filter and installed a couple bolt ons

but i do appreciate the encouragement to go and do it myself, and i know most of you would. i shall think about it these next couple weeks.. but not too hard i got exams !!!@#$%
