I'm going to have to be dead honest... I don't own a Mustang but a friend has a 1985 Mustang GT Convertible in the paint booth and we can't read the colour code off the inside of the car. It's red, but we don't know if there are different shades of red...

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could give us an idea of what that colour may be.

My '85 LX notch was jalapena red (paint code 2R...if I remember right)
There was also canyon red, which (I think) was code 2C

Welcome to CMOC.ca, sorry I cant help with the color.

There is 3 different shades of red in that year.,Bright Red(basically Red),Medium Canyon Red Metallic(maroon/burgundy like),and Jalapena Red (the most common color for '85/'86 GT's),which has a tint of Orange like in the Red,almost "similar" to the '00 Cobra "R".

Just found out that the car was resprayed a few years ago lol... So it's not even the original paint. Although it was sprayed the original colour. Now we've got to hope that we can match the matched colour :LOL:
