Late Bloomer

I have arrived ,and with my arrival I bid all of you...Greetings!
Please allow me to introduce myself...
I am a man whose age is closer to grand children than to the years of fond remembrance.
I saw my first picture of a Mustang in a Playboy Mag,
I saw my first real Mustang in a Santa Claus parade,
I envied Steve Mcqueen, not because he was so good lookin and a movie star...but for the fact that he got to drive that way cool green 390gt pony in that movie.
It was for me ,a journey long, and enlighteningly delightful, the passing of time until the gods and the universe deemed me worthy of being a caretaker for this
Bete Rouge(its a good thing!)She picked me,...yep she's a she,what else could she be?
So ,a used 08,Premium Gt with a Roush m-90 supercharger ,Roush suspension,
20"Foose wheels enveloped by Falken rubber...etc,now resides with me.
I will have questions...Cheers!

Welcome dude, a car is just a hunk of metal, but I think it's really cute how you call it a "she" and talk like it's alive.

I do not drive a "hunk of metal"
I drive an air breathing ,94 octane drinking, somewhat intuitive thinking, carbon dioxide producing, pleasure inducing, collection of engineering and vision...A "Mustang", and she is a girl....I slip into her and she envelopes me...if my car was a guy ,it would be a 4 door,or a pick up....or a chevy.
Cheers!

If your car was a guy, who would be slipping into who and be enveloped ? Sorry dude, I just think the whole naming your car and calling it a "she" is a little much, but internet opinions mean nothing, go with it if it makes you feel good, cheers to your new old lady mate.

:lol I don't ever see myself driving a 4 door,pickup or a chevy product,if I had to ,I think I'd have it gelded,
but I do see and appreciate your concern for my well being,
However....let me ask you this question...
Have you at anytime, ever, talked to your ride?:D

Well his ride is a 69 wife according to his profile so I'm guessing they have conversed a time or 2. :lol

Ray Spencer 06-16-2013 07:54 AM

I don't name my Mustang but I do worship it ( and polish and wax).

DublDee 06-16-2013 10:41 AM

I'm not really sure why, but when referring to my car(s) I've pretty much always called them "she" or "her"? Anyway, I've owned plenty of vehicles over the past 30 years(I'm sure some of you noticed I switch vehicles quite often), and my first car, a '65 Chevrolet Biscane (sorry to you young guys who have no idea what that is) and that car was literally just a large hunk of metal that provided transportation(barely) and mosquito control, but I can tell you that I have had some special cars in my life, and a lot of them were Mustangs and they were more than just a hunk of metal to me. I wouldn't spend endless hours getting every little swirl mark out, and polishing, and waxing every month or two if I thought they were just a hunk of metal. I think it's great the way you feel about your car, and I respect guys/gals that appreciate their vehicle and do their best to keep them looking and running their best. :tup

Hey, be careful what you say about pickups and 4 doors. My other rides are 11 GMC 4X4 in Fire Red and the wifes car is a 08 Pontiac G5 4 door which are GM products . I drive them all! :dunno Let me guess your other ride is a Dodge, Right? :?

I'm certainly ,not looking down my nose at those who drive said vehicles, nor
did I mean to insult same... I was merely attempting to convey my perspective
of the human/car relationship. My good lady wife drives a 02 Saturn Vue,whom she calls "winston"...I seldom drive the thing...it has early "fly by wire "power steering...scary! for me...and my other car is a Moped.:)

but alas yes, I have seen mine...and the counselling I have been getting has helped some...I no longer stutter and i have regained the use of my right hand ,which allows me to drive a 5 speed ...although I sometimes blow the shift from 2nd to third under duress,me thinks its the shifter maybe?

Get a short throw shifter, the stock shifters, at least on the '05 to '09's , were sloppier and looser than your grandma. :D
