New Guy from PEI

Hey everyone,

My name's Mark, I'm 21 from PEI and picked up my new (to me) 2011 Mustang GT California Special a few days ago. Really didn't plan on picking one up but lost my previous summer car (2014 Fiesta ST) to a storage fire last month after custom ordering it from the factory in April. Had it nicely modified dynoing at 219whp and 290ft-lbs and since insurance wasn't covering the full value of the car (looong story) couldn't bring myself to go all the way back to stock to start over again.

Actually looked at and test drove this exact car and really liked it last summer when it first got on the lot but at that time wasn't finacially possible to trade in a then 2 month old car for it so i passed. Went into my local dealer to pay off the ST and they mentioned it was still for sale but in storage for the winter if i was interested and after some haggling got a call from them a week later saying they'd do my price so i accepted.

It's got a weird stripe kit that i haven't seen before (maybe someone can shed some light on it) ,the 6 speed manual, 3.73 gears, and the shaker 1000 system.

Plans are to throw a Borla S-Type or Roush axle back on it right away then move to a shifter, and maybe long tubes with an X-pipe, in the far future. Very excited to put it lightly!

and a few pics of the old ST

and my current project, a 1971 Datsun 510 which is just waiting on an exhaust and all the snow to be gone. It has a 2.1 Long Rod motor with dual carbs, ported head with bigger valves, huge cam, a Z car 5 speed trans and numerous other stuff. Not too much left stock and proud to say everything done to the car (apart from boring the block) was done by my hands alone.
Putting my homemade coilovers on in this pic, hence the old suspension pieces everywhere haha

Before i lowered and PlastDipped it. Actually took the dip back off a few days ago, kinda like the ratty look more for now

Looking forward to learning lots from the community!

And finally a pic of it at home in the garage

Biggest question now is Borla or Roush haha

Welcome Mark, and congrats on the GT/CS, that's a sharp looking ride, you must be taking a beating on insurance with a 21 year old guy driving a Mustang GT/CS. Ouch, the insurance companies love sticking it to your age group. Love the old Datsun too, I swear my bro had one a million years ago, it was a cool car, only his was that bright Datsun orange. Fiesta ST is a pocket rocket, too bad about the fire, but you upgraded to the GT nicely. lol

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

The ST was definitely a little rocket and it almost read your mind when taking corners. Going to miss it but am also really looking forward to the future!

As for insurance i shopped around and ended up getting a rate of $1400 a year for full coverage so not too bad! Some places wanted close to $3500 though haha

The Mustang has a better safety rating than many cars. Hey I pay less for my new Shelby than I pay for my Mazda 3.

Nice car and welcome aboard!
