Welcome to the club! Nice ride, not enough power for ya or what? I see you're looking at getting a gt.

ChadStang 09-05-2015 01:25 PM

Welcome

Apocalypse Pony 09-07-2015 06:18 AM

Glad you love it so much, shame you're trying to dump it in the next breath. Welcome.

Autonut 09-07-2015 07:11 AM

Welcome to CMOC.

Welcome to the site.

Sage 09-07-2015 05:15 PM

Thank you, everyone.

I am not trying to get rid of my Mustang - I just want to make it sound better :) The car is otherwise perfect and classy to no end.

Looking forward to being here!

The exhaust on an ecoboost is a challenge. Have you considered a cold air intake and blow off valve? It won't change the exhaust not but will sound cooler in the car and give it a little hp bump.

Sage 09-09-2015 12:16 PM

I was actually considering getting a JLT CAI right after the exhaust. Then probably a BAMA or Livernois tune. What do you think about that?

Go for it, you won't regret it. :tup

Apocalypse Pony 09-09-2015 04:54 PM

Autonut, must be something goofy with the site, I can't see Sage's pics either, and I know they were there the other day.

It will wake it right up for sure

Sage 09-11-2015 01:56 PM

Yeah...well, power-wise this car is great and it's easy and not so expensive to get it up to 500whp+ and comparable torque (check this:
).

I am really not sold on pretty much any exhaust I found on the market for it so far though. But at least Roush and Flowmaster Outlaw don't sound too bad

roddy 09-11-2015 05:07 PM

I've been watching that build from the start...pretty impressive what you can get out of that little engine. Sadly, you'll never be able to get that V8 sound out of it. Don't let it bother you. I'm in the same boat...I have a supercharged V6 Mustang, and though it works great, the exhaust note doesn't really do it for me. I've tried 7 or 8 different exhaust systems on it, and eventually went with something fairly quiet. Enjoy being the underdog, and go beat up on some V8s for me.

Here is a link to the EcoBoost Mustang build thread that MAPerformance has been posting on a forum for the other car I drive (FR-S)...

Just do what they did, nothing wrong with that at all

I have a couple of pictures of his ride.

Sage 09-15-2015 09:18 AM

Hey, anyone had experience with Livernois CAI? Are they any good? Got a chance to put one in my pony with a decent discount

Edit: Uh actually, just found this topic here: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...-ecoboost.html

Damn, these sound awesome - dat turbo sound! Any comments on the MMR CAI?

Welcome to the club. They are all wicked cars!!!

Sage 09-16-2015 07:56 PM

So I just got that Flowmaster exhaust installed. What do you think?

def67 09-16-2015 09:35 PM

Not bad at all!

ChadStang 09-16-2015 10:04 PM

Sounds good

Sage 09-16-2015 11:21 PM

Thanks! It actually sounds really deep and throaty at idle and startup. Kinda not a huge fan of higher sound range on 5k+ revs, but it's definitely 10x better than the stock. Plus extra HP :)

Will keep improving

Autonut 09-17-2015 01:33 AM

Sounds real good, I didn't expect that from a four. I think it sounds better then my six.

car_designer 09-26-2015 01:40 PM

That sounds really good! You must be very happy. I was at a Ford dealership once and the salesman started an Ecoboost Mustang indoors and we could barely hear a thing.

Your's sounds more appropriate for a Mustang.

Mustang2008 11-23-2015 10:07 AM

Very nice

Thx, I think previous owner took really good care of it. I will follow on with that tradition :-)

Air In-take

Hi Everyone,

I was thinking the same to upgrade the air-intake, but reading mix reviews on the web that it does not add more HP. Any comments...?

Thanks

You will gain horse power with a tune and intake. Intake alone will probably make your car run lean.
