new member, future buyer help !!

Hey everybody I'm in the process of buying a mustang, but i want to know the ins and outs, what links or sites to continue my research on etc and your opinion and advice is very welcomed. I want to know what you think what years to avoid, what flaws to look for, what models have the most problems etc.. I'm for sure going V8 and coupe dont care about color or transmission so any help will be very appreciated !!

- Thanks

Alex

First off, welcome, look no further, everything you need to know about Mustangs is right here, and in a Canadian forum. Go V8, go manual is dependent on what you want out of the driving experience, these cars are a blast to own and drive, and theres a great group of owners here. Enjoy.

Welcome and good luck with your search.

Autonut 02-07-2016 01:29 PM

Welcome to CMOC. Hope you find what you are looking for, good luck.

roddy 02-07-2016 06:41 PM

If I had to have an '99-'04, and didn't want to spend Cobra levels of cash, I'd be looking for an '01 Bullitt, or an '03-'04 mach1. Don't know if $12K would buy a nice enough mach, though.

Welcome to the site.

Tlavalle 02-07-2016 07:35 PM

I'll second the Mach 1. It is a great version and the all aluminum motor is great. Will be hard to find in the $12K range thought, but I seen a few. I'd love to add a low mileage one in Azure Blue to my fleet.

Mach 1 with 65000km for $13k isn't terrible.

What do you mean by that?

Apocalypse Pony 02-29-2016 03:22 AM

Exactly what I said, I thought $13k for a Mach 1 with 65000km wasn't a terrible price, whats the confusion?

Confusion is that since my first language is french and in french, "not a terrible price" (le prix n'est pas terrible) means not a good price as in too expensive...and since I think that $13k for a Mach 1 with 65000km is a great price, I thought you meant that this particular car was overpriced which surprised me.

he used rather bad grammar there. c'est la vie:dunno

Apocalypse Pony 02-29-2016 02:41 PM

A Mach 1 with only 65000km on the odometer is rather exquisitely priced at $13000 Canadian dollars. I think that is a marvellous deal for anyone seeking a fine enthusiast automobile for motoring pleasure on a summers eve.

HAPPY?

HAPPY?

But what if he wants to drive it in the spring, fall or winter?

nope.
spring is pothole season; fall means leaves all over your car (& probably snow); winter is too slippery & dangerous.
& daytime in summer is too hot.
you can ONLY drive in the summer at night,
as long as the sun isn't in your eyes.
...better not risk it.
keep it in the garage under a tarp.
better safe than sorry blah:

This is funny. Reminds me of some members of my former car club. They refuse to drive their Mustangs if it rained, hence they were nicknamed "Garage Queen Do Nothings."

milner_7 07-03-2016 11:12 AM

Hey we all have our reason as to when and why we drive our cars. Don't knock others for theirs, drive yours and be happy about it.
