New member from Waterloo, Ontario
Hello my mustang brothers,
I just struck a deal yesterday for my very first mustang. I bought a 2015 Ecoboost 2.3L coupe. I will receive the delivery for my car this coming Thursday and I am beyond excited and cannot wait for the big day to come. I have always been a mustang fan since I was a little kid with posters on my wall, desktop wallpapers and all :) The reasons I did not buy a V8 were 1. More expensive: As I am a recent graduate I am part of the huge student debt repayment club too. I managed to fit the ecoboost in my budget though. 2. Daily driver: I am going to be daily driving my mustang to work and all my chores. So it will be out there in the harsh winters of Ontario, I am not too excited about it but I am going to get the best winter tires out there and be as safe as possible. I welcome any tips and suggestions from current ecoboost or any other mustang owners. Look forward to be a part of this community. Cheers :chacha: |
Welcome to CMOC! Post up a pick of the stang. The eco-boost is no joke, congrats on the purchase! Is it a base or premium?

Thanks def67! I don't have the picture of my mustang yet as it will be on their lot on Thursday. I test drove a different colour though, The red one on the right in this picture. I opted for a black one :)
It is a base mustang as I did not feel the need for the bells and whistles. https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1437924965 |
Waiting till thursday, lol. Thats going to be the longest 4 days of your life!

Welcome to CMOC. A co-worker bought a 2015 Black 5.0 and he just loves it. I'm beginning to think I might want one. On second thought, nope. I think I'll just stick with my 09. :tup

Congrats on the new ride, welcome, post some pics when the delivery takes place.

Welcome to the site.

Welcome, congrats.
I would love a 15. |
Welcome, and congrats on the new ride. The EcoBoost is going to be the one to watch...minor bolt-ons (intake/cat-back/downpipe and tune) are showing impressive gains. It's the one I'd buy.
Consider Bridgestone Blizzaks for winter tires. Mount them on the smallest diameter wheel you can fit on the car. Dry handling may go for a bit of a sh!t, but it will be worth it when you make it to work intact every morning. |
Thanks everyone! I will be taking plenty of pics for sure and ill share em with you guys.
Thanks Roddy. I will definitely do that. I have heard good things about the blizzaks and michelin x ice. I had one doubt, what is the best way to protect paint from rust and salt stains? Is any of that needed or not? They offered me some paint and rust protection at the dealership and i declined coz it sounded like a moneygrab sales pitch. |
I can't recommend the best rust protection product, but something would be beneficial.
I have had my rust proofed 3 times so far and I've already had the hood and trunk repaired under warranty on my 2013 due to rust. It is a 12 month a year daily driver like yours will be. I've currently got 17" steel wheels with Goodyear Ultra Grip (I think) and my V6 has been through 2 winters so far and did great. |
Go Krown or Rust Check for sure, cheap insurance. As far as paint protection, get a good brand of wax and throw a couple of coats on before winter, and keep it clean, should be all you need. You already got some great advice on steel wheels and Blizzaks for winter. A lot of guys cringe at the cost, and being a recent grad you might too, but you just bought a brand new Mustang, throw another $1000 down for a set of snows and wheels, you won't regret it after the first snowfall, and they pretty much pay for themselves. Maybe take back your empties from college, or quit drinking beer for the summer. Then again, maybe that was just my college days. lol

Welcome and congrats on your new car.
I double what AP says but add in detail your car (especially the outside) after you get it and then use a good wax or a good sealer (Nu Polish twice a year, fall and spring is an excellent way to keep your paint protected). Also think about really good floor mats like Weather tech or Husky to protect your floors from salt and wet. You can also use plasti dip on the front of your car in the Winter and peel it off come spring to protect it from the crap that comes off the highway and abrades the nose of the car. If you want it to look invisible you can use glossifier on it. 3M also has sprays that do this. |

Hey Everyone,
Just picked up my new stang yesterday. It is even more fun to drive than the one I testdrove and I absolutely love the roar when you accelerate hard. I'll be very pleased if I can end this summer with a clean driving record, gonna be pretty hard though ;) I have put up the pics, If I didn't mention earlier the one with black seats they were looking at for me was already sold and all they had was one with ceramic seats. Tbh starting out I wasn't really a big fan when the salesman sent me pictures, but it looks better in person. This is one beautiful car; got plenty of stares, compliments and thumbs up just on my way home from the dealership. https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1438340619 https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1438340619 https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1438340619 |
