Sweet. How many coats of clear will you apply and what's the maximum that can be applied to a car. Is there a benefit to apply more than say 3 coats of clear?

i did my brothers car two years ago. i did 4 coats of clear let it set for a few weeks wet sanded it all and applied 4 more coats
since then we have changed clear coats and putting 4 coats on now is to much for one sitting and will end up popping. do to it being so much thicker
so ill do 3 and 3 after the final three it will sit for about 4 months and ill sand it all and polish it.
more coats of clear is more protection from the suns UV rays! and in a paint job with lots of pearl or metallic it gives it a very deep look. of course when applying that much clear care must be taken to do everything right so its not going to flake off peel or chip
