Soon to be New Mustang owner with a question?

Hello all!!
I have wanted a Mustang convertible for a very long time, and have finally decided to take the plunge on a V6. The question I have is....I have found a 2011 with a 6 speed manual, and fully loaded! With 24k on the clock. I have also found a 2010 with a 5 speed manual, also fully loaded, with 33k. The cars are almost identical, same colour and same options. They are asking $7000 more for the 11 than the 10.
What are the differnces beside the engine and tranny, and is the 11 worth the extra $7k?

Thanks!!

IMHO take the 10,save yourself 7k.

^^ I agree and I also disagree....It all depends on what you're looking to get out of the car. Is the stock performance a big deal to you, or are you simply looking for a car to cruise around in with the top down? Performance wise I would go for the '11, but for nice sunny day cruising with the top down, I would definitely save the cash and grab the '10. Appearance wise, your getting the same car pretty much. :?

I agree with DoubleDee, the 11 has 100 more hp out of the box. But 7000 will go far to make the 10 faster, and the 10 will have many more mods available for now.

And that 4.0L SOHC is now an orphan, Ford is no longer using that in any vehicles. The 3.7L is a way nicer engine than that 1970s V6 converted to OHC that became the 4.0.

IMO, if you can swing the extra $7K, go for the 2011. Long term I think that the resale value on the 10 V6 is going to be crap compared to the 11-up cars.

cheers
Ed

Six speed manual would be sweet to go with the extra horsepower, plus another year of warranty. Go for the '11, why spend the dough to make the '10 measure up performance wise ?

I'd go with the 11 for sure. Maybe you can get them beat down on the price or find a cheaper one.

Go with the newest model you can afford. Sometimes a year newer makes for a much better vehicle but you have to weigh that against your bank account and what the difference actually amounts to. I just bought a leftover 2012 instead of a new 2013 because it was a great $$ deal and I actually liked the '12 better than the '13.

Good luck with your new purchase, what ever it might be.

Go for the 2011 all day long!
