Any idea what i can expect out of a mainly stock 86 GT T-roof?
0-60? 1/4 mile |
A stock '86 GT will see a good 15.1 or so.A good driver might ge it into the 14's.With a few bolt ons like full exhaust, pullies,k&n,and the air silencer out,mid 14's to 14.3 ish.MY buddy had a '86 GT T roof, mint, mint, mint, then he sold it ,and replaced it with a Honda smack: .

ok...thats sorta what i had in mind...thanks

I managed a best of 13.2@102 with the 300000km longblock, down to the untouched E6 heads. I had a home portmatched 87+ upper and TB, 3.73s, pullies, ported stock headers, stock 4 cat h-pipe run open, 9 year old ET streets, and a lot of gutting. It's not hard to get these cars into the 13s, hell I would have been in the 12s with a real slick or at a prepped track. If you're looking for bolt-ons I've got that portmatched upper and an 89 TB, some E7 heads, an electric fan, ported stock headers, and prolly a few other things to get you going....

I already have all the parts i listed above. But the port matched intake and the electric fan sound interesting
|
sorry, i must be blind as i can't see any parts lol
PM if you would like that intake and fan, I have no use for them so they are only taking up space |
Oh right...lol..sorry that was another post, I got confused again...lol
So far the parts i'v collected are: 89 upper and lower 89 E7 heads 88 ECM 88 Throttle body 88 EGR spacer BBK long tubes Off road H pipe Noisy timing gears |
So...if i use an electric fan, how do i loose the stock fan?
Do i still run a belt around it? Becasue all i would have on the cerpentine is the P/S and the Alt then...that might look kinda funny. |
The stock clutch fan is held on by 4 bolts. Simply Take them off and the fan comes off of the pulley. Then put the bolts back in with washers on them (if you don't use washers the pulley will crack). After that you mount your electric fan to the radiator and wire it up with a toggle switch so you can control when it comes on.

whats the advantage to controling when it comes on? also i might be the type to forget to turn it on...or offf
