gfong winner at CFSC congrats!!!!

Congrats on your win at Canada's Fastest Street Car Shootout.

Greg took the win in the 12.90 index. With the wheels up launch's and the 3rd and 4th gear pull, no one else had a chance. :gun:

It was great to finaly meet you and once again Congrats. :thumb1:

Well done this weekend Greg, nice to meet you as well, Im still shocked how high your car pulled the wheels on every pass, again congradulations.

Ponyryd 07-17-2006 04:41 PM

Pulling the wheels in a Mach? Must have some serious power/good suspension setup, congrats man!

G-ForceJunkie 07-17-2006 05:34 PM

Congrats! We were watching from the stands on sunday and were damn impressed at how hard the car was leaving on a radial. Good job!
So do you like the MT's better than the Hoosiers?

MUSTANG GUY 07-17-2006 08:18 PM

Good stuff
Congrats man

Thanks, next time out come and introduce your selfs, nice to meet new Mustang enthusiasts.

I like the Hoosier for the stability and ride. The MT is violent at 16psi at about 90 mph and up. I have had them balanced twice and no one can find anything wrong with them. Maybe just got a bad set not sure but up to middle of 4th really nice tire. It seems they will last longer than the Hoosiers did, but I think I killed the Hoosiers prematurely with excessive burnouts as it was rather cold in April and May and thought I was heating them up good. Probably too good. lol

So far best with the Mickey was a 1.66 short time and the best with the Hoosier was a 1.64, both at differant tracks and differant times of year. By the looks of the pics the Mickey Thompson is a tougher sidewall tire as it is reacting without wrinkling and the Hoosiers wrinkled a lot (almost like a slick does.)
I will find out how the MT's react at Sparta in two weeks and also the 60ft times as that is where the Hoosiers did their best work. At the first OSCA race the Hoosiers were dead and the core was showing. :( Thanks for the congrats.

I'm pretty sure I may have informally met you during tech at the last OSCA race. I was behind you in line and was asking how the MT's compared to the Hoosiers, but then got sidetracked with the inspector. At the time I had the hood-less blue LX coupe LOL! Next time out I'll have to formally introduce myself.

Odd on the radials, must be a bum tire or hopefully not something up with the rim. I was out on my 325 50 15's in Real Street Outlaw and it was smooth as glass up to 140mph. If I could get consistant hook out of the radials I'd never go back to a slick. I did notice when going from my old BFGs to the MT's the sidewalls are totally different. I used to run 10-11psi in the BFGs to get them to hook and they'd wrinkle like crazy. The MT's like 15-16psi but they don't wrinkle much at all but I do catch more air with the nose. Hopefully if you decide to get another set when they are worn out you won't have any issues with them.

Congrats again on the 12.90 win! Your car looked great out there.

Tim

Right on, I remember the conversation. About the tires, yea all I have heard is praise for them, so hopefully will figure it out.

I will look for you at the next race and say hi for sure. good luck and thanks for the info about the tires.
