What is your home Track?

I posted the same over at http://www.canadianmustangs.com
Drag Strip or Road Course your pick, What is your home track?

I'm in Ontario:
My home track is St.Thomas Dragway 10 mins away.

I am about an hour and 15 away from Cayuga (TMP) and about the same an hour and a half to Grandbend Motorplex.

With the Drag Radials I just motor around :tup
Straight line for me.

Roadkiller 12-30-2004 12:38 PM

Atlantic Motorsports Park ( http://www.atlanticmotorsportpark.com/ )

2.6 Km, 11 turns, and about an hour drive from my door. :tup

Scotts88 12-30-2004 04:45 PM

Greenfield Raceway

http://www.nsdra.piczo.com/

about 2.5hrs away. used to be an airport. Not a bad track. has no return lane so its a slow moving track. Well there is a return lane but its a crushed gravel road so no one uses it.

slow5.0 12-30-2004 06:00 PM

My home track is TMP it's about 1 hour away(it's a lovely drive in the Mach).
I use to go to London every Sunday when Fletcher owned it.

Steeda Q 12-30-2004 08:23 PM

i am about 1 hour away from TMP, Sparta and Grand Bend...most of the time I go to Sparta but I visit TMP quite a few times it would be a tossup between the 2 went to Grand Bend only once this year

gfong 12-30-2004 09:01 PM

slow5.0: I think I need some driving lessons from you. Nice times with the mods.

steeda Q: how is Grand Bend, never made it, going to go next year for sure.

This is what I have heard, Grand Bend TMP Sparta in that order for traction and e.t.

Some say Sparta over TMP, I can not hook up at Sparta but my mph is always higher their. I like that it is just mins down the road.

grand bend is by far the best track for traction my buddy hit a 1.7 60ft on a friday night on Hercules radials in a Big Block Challenger also I bogged launching at 4500rpm and still managed a 1.7 60ft...grand bend is definitely a stock axle breaker wach out

cayuga and spara r really close but cayuga outhooks sparta by far...if i could hook at sparta as good as cayuga i'd have a better ET i believe but that wont hapen...but i love going to Spara for the athmosphere by far the best...

Mission raceway for me! about a half hour drive away (probably closer to 20, but on a race day, it seems to take longer :bang

You are al most correct. It was that Lead was not allowed across the border into Canada. ABout a month later they passed a law allowing the use of lead as an additive for older cars at the time. I had my tickets for the "Le Grandnational" and then they cancelled it. Got my money back, deal was they would have transported ticket holder to Kansas to see another event later in the year. I could not get work off so got my money back. It was a hoot at Sanair, naked women, beer, cars, naked women in the stands, crazy wild place. did I mention the naked women in the stands. No kidding the racers would stop and get out of their funny cars and look at the naked chics. What a place. Anyway enough of that.... cheers.

Yea I go with wife/gf. Think I do recognise your car. I have curly longer hair, 260 pds. Christ if I went on a diet I could run lower 13's. :) Now that would be a mod.

I'll be back at er come spring. ?You also I suspect.

May have been, To my knowledge when I have been their I was the only Mach 1 except for on Mustang day when Steeda.ca were there. I was the red one, also one orange auto girl driver, and one grey one. I went out in the 2nd round on that day, went under my dial in and the grey Mach made it to the semis i think.

In summer I was all over the board. ran 14.20's 13.9's finally got some consistancy and ran 13.7 to 13.9's.

Got it down to a 13.4 finally. Once I did the burn out and my clutch cable let go right as I was going up to the line, had to push it back on to the grass area, scared me as I thought I took the clutch outta the car.(I think "Vedran", I could be wrong though, kept telling me that it was okay and that it was probally the cable) lol. Got it flat bedded back into st thomas and got her fixed.

So if any of this sounds familiar, yea it was me, and Damn it I can't wait to do it all again this spring.lol Take care good luck this year.

I told u right away it was the cable...too bad i didnt have my floor jack n tools there we could have fixed it right away or maybe not cuz u had probably lost the clip that holds the cluch cable in place cuz i doubt it let go on the clutch fork...i will be out April 1st most likely!

i like Woddbridge Raceway as well we had some good nights last year all over Toronto 5POINTOHNO was there.... :tup

The track has it's place, but woodbridge raceway houses some of the most classic races ever :D

goddamn i hate winter.

1low03gt 01-22-2005 03:19 PM

For me St.Thomas Dragway is about 20 min away, and Grand Bend Motorplex is about 1 hour away.

Clean_5oh 01-22-2005 05:25 PM

TMP is about 45 minutes away. I have been there once on a DR and 20 times on a Street tire. I would like to go to Sparta or grand bend this summer.

It seems that a lot of us are neutral to the three tracks give or take an hour. Maybe as it gets closer we can organize a road trip or something to all the tracks this spring/summer.

If it is your hometrack we could all meet somewhere or meet in the track. Some of you know some others on the board and even if we don't we know our cars.

Nothing too heavy, just something like hey who wants to go to Cayuga or Grandbend or Sparta this Friday, Saturday, Wed..
Something to think about it. Keep her straight.

red82gt 01-26-2005 03:18 PM

Eagle Motorplex in Ashcroft is 2 hours away, Nice, laid back track in the middle of the desert but famous for it's oppressive summertime heat (June through september, you could be racing in the mid-high 30's). For the July and august races they have night drags on the saturday evening-race until 1 am, drink beer, wake up and race sunday morning.
I'm about 3 1/2 hours from Mission and there is a local 1/8th mile track called thunder mountain (about 25 minutes away) but it is at 4500 feet and the 1/8th mile is lame compared to the quarter.

i can run the wheels off my stock 86 to the tune of low 13s, shoudl hit high 12s this year with the "crappy" e6 heads. i'll give you a few lessons if you'll let me take the Mach down the track once.....i love them cars

i'm usually at St.Thomas for Buick day (love the turbo buicks) but am planning on trying Grand bend this year for a chance at better traction and maybe a decent 12 second run before the mods go on....

He's just being a smart ass due to his jealousy of Paul from Steeda.ca who tunes cars. Disregard just about anything he says :D

Schlodes 01-29-2005 02:25 AM

I've been racing at St Thomas [and when it was called London Motorsports Park] since 1996.

I have wanted to try Grand Bend for traction, but I ALWAYS hear that the place is so busy that the staging lanes are CONGESTED with people waiting to run, and so I have never gone. :dunno I'd like to try TMP too, and very likely will this summer. I'll load up and stay at my brothers in Port Colborne and just go from Port, to Cayuga...

GB, i'll do if I know it's not a huge event or going to be overly busy..

I'm game if we do an Ontario CMOC track day.. that would be kick ass. :tup
