3.73 newbie

Just got 3.73 gears installed last Friday. Since I've never had a car like this I wasn't sure what to expect. I was reading lots of posts and comments and everyone who's had this done was very pleased. Well..........me too! :D Certainly makes the car even more fun to drive. Yesterday I pulled out to pass another car, I was running at about 70kms and accelerated without putting the peddle all the way down. The pull, the quick shift and immediate acceleration was very cool! A noticeable difference from the stock 3.15. Yep, I'm loving it! Oh yea, and did a little switch on the exhaust too. So now the rumble is just a tiny bit louder.

3.15 is your car an auto? I'm sure that would make quite a difference. What did you do for exhaust? I'm curious on what sounds good on the new 5.0.

Congrats on the 3.73s. How did you adjust the speedometer? Did Ford help you out, or did you pick up a handheld tuner?

Nice .... 3.73's are definetly more fun!

Yep, auto. Swapped out the H-pipe for an X-pipe. That was done more for power and not so much for the sound. The increased noise was just a bonus. Already had the roush axle-backs. Snakebite...I'll work on that vid.:)

The Steeda boys did the install, so had it tuned too. Bought my first tuner. :D That tune made a world of difference..... Roddy, the lag in throttle response is now gone.

I figured a tune would take care of that for ya. Do you notice an improvement in shift quality as well with the auto?

That's the first thing I noticed. It shifted sooner and it was clean and fast. Made me smile. LOL

Nice. Being able to play with the transmission settings almost makes me wish mine was an automatic. Almost.
