Does the whole car vibrate? Could be the clutch?

1fastzx 10-13-2007 08:37 PM

yeah the whole car does do you think it would be the clutch or transmission

Bad harmonic balancer? wrong flywheel? are you sure it's not just a misfire?

1fastzx 10-13-2007 09:19 PM

the whole car shakes and vibrates when you rev it past 2.

^But is it misfiring? do you know how to tell? how's it run?

+1 on the "2 piece harmonic balancer" I had the same problem!
If its spun its to hard to tell but she shakes look out!!!!!!!!!!!
Does it make and noise?

no noise, just a bad shake, engine runs smooth. somebody told me the problem could be with my clutch, throwout bearing, or the shaft coming out of the transmission.

^Not very likely related to the clutch, t/bearing or input shaft. It's probably a bad balancer or wrong flywheel/unbalanced flywheel.

Actually tremecs sometimes have a problem with too much end play on the input shaft if you call there tech line they will send you a kit and tell you how to measure the end play and what the spec is . This sometimes leads to vibration!
