Buying an 8.8 rear end

Ok,

So I stopped at one of the more reputable recyclers here in Winnipeg to see about getting an 8.8 rear end for my '04 V6...and boy did I leave pissed off!

Who in their right mind would pay between $750 and $1000 for a used rearend? Seriously, I couldn't believe it!! I told the guy that at $750 it's about $500 more than I'd ever pay...so I guess I won't be getting an 8.8 any time soon....

I think most of them just try to price at 1/2 of what a dealer sells them new for. I'm sure if you spend some time on kijiji you'll find something.

Just think that they paid **** for that car too. They make there money.
At the same token, i hear that they prefer to deal with collision shops, ects anyways, and the prices reflect that.

Exactly,

and considering I paid $300 for my 7.5 with 4.10's and T-Lok...and I kinda think I overpaid for those..the likelyhood I'm going to pay that much for a stock 8.8 is ridiculous!!
