Dual Exhaust for 08 4.0 V6

I'm just wondering what dual exhaust I should use when I change mine. I have seen many advertised and don't know what one would be the best. I what a nice sound but don't want to void my warranty. What do you think? Lloyd:confused:

I may be wrong but I think FRPP is starting to market a V6 Power Package, that include dual exhaust, intake and some other stuff. I read it in 5.0Mustangs and Super Fords

There are lots of kits for the V6. The FRPP kit is one of the better ones, and it now comes with the GTB Mufflers. (the same mufflers found on the '08 Bullitt) You can see some of the available kits at v6mustangstuff.com.

You should be safe with warranty, unless your dealer is really sticky with little stuff like this.
But like already mentioned,FRPP kit would be a nice bolt on kit.

i have magnaflow cat back system that has nice sound but drones some at 2000rpm. i am tempted to replace it with the ford system, true dual and little if any drone.

Doesn't the Ford system use Borla mufflers?

I didn't even think of checking with the dealership about the exhaust but I will. Thanks, Lloyd:tup

i'm going that route in the spring...
i decided i'll just keep my v6 and add to it instead of switching to a GT...
would rather add to this car than lose money and not even able to add to the GT.. :)

i am thinking of getting the power pack w/ the upgraded brakes...

has anyone gotten this yet?

any comments? opinions?

Lloyd if you decide to go this route as well please let me know how it goes.. :)

race ya to it ;)
jk..

Just a thought but has anyone heard a v6 with Flowmasters? I love Flowmaster on my and other v8's out there, so maybe they would sound good on a v6.:wiggle:

ss06vert 01-09-2009 07:30 PM

check out you tube, might be some quality sounding clips there.

i looked into it..
i wasn't impressed with sound clips i heard of them on v6's...
obviously the v8's they sounded nice...

the sound clip i heard for the ford true dual set up sounded the best for v6's... especially since the mufflers copy the bullit's exhaust note.. :)
imho at least...

but to each their own :D

I believe I saw a thread from Ray Spencer (the guy in Alberta with the blue V6) on here with a write up on his dual conversion.

Search for that too because it may help.

I am a fan of Flowmaster's sound, as well (at least on V8s). However, on the V6, they aren't the best sounding option. The V6 suffers from a lot of drone, and the Flows tend to really bring it out. I experimented with a few different models of their mufflers on a 4.0 Ranger I had a few years ago. Nothing cured it, but the mufflers with delta flow seemed a little better.

The absolute best sounding system I have heard for the S197 cars (both V6 and V8) is from Corsa. They have 3 models for the S197, but be prepared to spend some $$. The last time I checked, they started around $700US for a pair of mufflers...A V6 owner would still need to source an X-(or H)pipe, over axle pipes, clamps, and muffler hangers for the left side...Ouch!!

Magnaflow.com

mikeGT350 01-20-2009 05:22 AM

flowmaster sells a miffler for the V6 stang and it sounds really good my buddy has one on his.

08GTStang 01-20-2009 07:53 AM

I would have to say Magnaflow I have a Cat back on my V6 Firebird the sound is very good a bit of a drone around town but on the Highway it is better. I want to do a complete system and headers on my GT but I will use the Magnapacks for that.
