FRPP 4.10 Gears stronger?

Are the FRPP 4.10 gears stronger than the stock gears?

What's the most power the stock ones can handle, and what's the max the FRPP 4.10 could handle?

I know I'm nowhere near the max, but I want to be able to handle a blower in the future.

(Assuming the gears are the weakest link, the tranny would probably go first...)

gears are not the weakest link, axles would probably go first, if not the tranny as well.

Really the axles... that's sad.

But note that I said, ASSUMING the gears were the weakest link... I'm throwing out a hypothetical here.

It's pretty hard to break a set of gears, as stated above the axles are the weak link. After the axles would be the trans, then the 8.8 housing.
The housing can be strengthened (welded tubes, center supports/gussets, etc) and you can easily go with a 31-spline setup, that would be good for up to 500hp I'd say.

BTW you car looks great! well done.

Very interesting. How would the axles break? Just snap in the middle? Or shear off the splines? Or shear at the wheels?

Thanks, hey you're in Windsor, you should check it out sometime, I cruise riverside all the time. (I know my thing says Milton, that's my home, I'm in Windsor at school right now.) I need some stang friends in Windsor, don't have any yet.

Usually break between the splines and the outer flange, wheel comes off, hits fender, etc... not pretty.
As for some Windsor stang buddies, try here.........www.windsorstangs.com. Some good guys there, but few tools as well so I'm not often online, I prefer the cmoc .
Meet during nice weather every Tues. @ A+W, I have the same username there.

Gears can take alot of abuse, and I think the aftermarket gears are stronger (I think)
Ive seen lots of stockers break before.
I would be really worried on the tranny.
