Flywheel Question.

Flywheel Question.
I bought a Spec flywheel in June with a replaceable friction plate when I replaced my clutch. I have put maybe 3000km on it. I am replacing the clutch again and having a hard time finding the new friction plate. I am getting conflicting info. Some say I have to resurface (which I don't think I can with a replaceable plate) and others are saying if it's that new and not warped to just use emery cloth or scuff pad to clean it up. I am going from organic to kevlar.
What's your opinion?

Hard to find a replacement plate???That sucks!
If there is no hot spots on the plate, and everything klooks good,a good scuffing should do,did that with mine, and no issues at all.
Some might say different though.

Well I think I found out why I am having a hard time. It seems the 01-04 spec flywheel is the same as the 05-09 but different part numbers for some reason. American Muscle has the one for the 01-04 so my guess is that's the one I need. I will check with Spec tomorrow to confirm.

Contact a SPEC dealer near you. Here is a link to dealers across canada.

Or contact SPEC directly and ask them.

Yeah that's what I am going to do.
Even on American Muscle's site they list 2 different Spec part numbers yet their stock numbers are the same and state that the 2 spec numbers are the same product. If so that friction plate will work and for the sake of $100 I'd rather replace it.

I already ordered it. It would suck to get it apart and find out I do have burnt spots or whatever and have to wait for a new one. My plan is to have the new trans/clutch/plate and swap them in a day so want to have everything I could possibly need.
