question for trans and diff
 
hello every-one i am new to the site and i have a lots of questions first the site is:tup i but my mustang end of last year and the guy did the swap of 2.3 to 5.0l and i wont to no if the trany and the differentiel is the same as the 5.0l thanks for the infoyamy-luc hope to talk to any-one soon:chacha:

No, they aren't if he reused the 4-banger tranny.

The diff from the V8 cars is an 8.8, the V6 and 4-banger cars had it's much weaker brother, the 7.5.

The T5 for the 4-banger is also not rated to handle the same amount of torque (though they seem to hold up just fine) and has different gear ratios and a less-steep overdrive.

Hey Yamy-Luc, the rear end you are able to tell visually if you know what to look for. The transmission is not so easy to find out, unless you take it out and inspect or hopefully it still has the tag on it. I am in Montreal, so if you need someone to look at it I'd be happy to help.
