Rear Axle Gear Change

Hi
I'm new here and hoping some experienced Mustang guys can give me some advice. I have a hot rod with a '95 Lincoln Town Car rear end in it. I think it has 3:08 gears but I know for sure it's a dog off the line.

Does anyone know if an 8.8" Mustang gear set will swap into my axle ?

Something in the 3.55 range would probably be best for me but 3.08 just isn't working.

If a Mustang ring and pinion would fit without a problem, does anyone have any advice where I should go to get a set ?

Thank you for any help you can give me,
Dave

Yep any gears that are for an 8.8 should work. Keep an eye peeled in the for sale section for used ones, or at the wreckers for an F150, alot of them had 3.55's in em.

Probably '80 or so and up...Also 4.0L rangers and explorers often have 3.27, 3.55(I think), 3.73, and even 4.10s with an 8.8.

I think around 85 and up have 8.8s in them but I think the 9" was still an option up untill the late 80's
