Throwout bearing advice

It is whining, and is still under warranty, but I was wondering if anyone has any information on this one

Exedy Mustang Hydraulic Throwout Bearing/Slave Cylinder (05-13 GT, GT500) BRG0159 - Free Shipping!

I feel more comfortable with my mechanic than the dealership here, even if it was covered.

Am I doing any further damage driving it occasionally until I store it?

Hate spending $ to have it sit for the winter.

Let the dealer do the work . Might void your warrenty if someone else works on it . Just a thought .

I hear you,and I was actually going that route until I saw the part from AM.

The factory bearing only lasted 40 thousand Kms and as we all know, once the dealer explains the "not included " in the warranty,I will have a bill of $500,and a part that is a proven weak link.

So I figure for the cost of the AM bearing, that is now recommended on even the newer Mustangs, and four hours labour, it will actually cost less.

I will upgrade the clutch and PP at the same time, once again with a better than factory one.

I guess I was looking for advice on how long I dare drive it with a noisy bearing, and if the posted part has been used by anyone.

The warranty is up in November,so it is not really a factor.

Thanks.

Ok ... if it's making noise , it's making " heat " now . If you keep playing the driving time game it might just weld it's self in the crank which will cost some extra $$$ to get it out .
Buy your parts and talk to your shop to have it done before it goes away for the winter . That way it's good to go in the spring when your itching to drive it . :)

goodluck.
