Your auto trans is a 4r70W. First thing to do is to check the fulid level. If it is low the symptoms will be amplified when the trans is cold. There are no adjustments for this trans though and slipping can be a bad sign. Is there a flashing o/d light or check engine light? Wheneither of these are occuring the trans will automatically stay in 2nd gear and this will give a slipping sensation.
I will check this thread often I was a Ford dealer trans tech for 10 years before starting my own business. I hope this helps.
