trans swap ?
so im thinking of going to an auto aod. a built 1 not stock. the reason being if i happen to blow a shift i might blow the motor if im nailin the nitrous . plus im thinking of a turbo set up on my car. the question i have is this. the auto trans ive got is from a 92 f-150 with a 5.0 in the truck. im thinking this trans will bolt right in. yes ? no ? anybody?

I don't know if it will bolt right up, but is there not a safety switch so you don't blow the motor on a missed shift?

Hard choice to make!
I used the complete MSD Ignition system on mine with the automatic retarder and Rev Limiter. That Rev Limiter had saved my motor many times, I have both an automatic and a T-5, I don't and can't rely on the automatic shifting either, because of temp, viscosity, vacumn etc.. And that's with a full shift improvment kit. Again thanks to the MSD Rev Limiter I still have both motors! Can't give a straight answer on the F-150 bolt up, sorry!

i bought a truck that has a new aod in it. the old 1 is sitin in the back. the overdrive is slipping from what the old owner said but he gave me the trans in the box of the truck. i had 1 built ( for my old blue notch ) and it cost me 2500 re/installed. they put hardend racing clutches and bands and that trany was awesome. so i think , (if it will fit ) ill take it to the trans shop and have it redone. im gonna need something that will handle around 600hp evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil: evil:

The 92 F-150 could have the large E4OD trans, which wouldn't easily fit in a Mustang. But chances are it's an AOD. The tailshaft length should match up OK, you'll probably just have to get the TV cable and shifter stuff from an AOD Mustang to make it hook up.
